FAQ
How long does attic insulation last?
The lifespan of attic insulation can vary depending on the type of insulation used, the environmental conditions, and the installation quality. When left untouched it can last as long as the building.
Factors that can affect the lifespan of attic insulation include:
- Moisture: Insulation exposed to moisture from leaks or high humidity can degrade faster. Mold and mildew growth can also be a concern.
- Pests: Rodents and insects can damage insulation, reducing its effectiveness and lifespan.
- Compression and Disturbance: Insulation that is compressed or disturbed (e.g., by walking on it or storing items on it) can lose its insulating properties over time.
- Installation Quality: Proper installation is crucial for the longevity of insulation. Poorly installed insulation can lead to gaps, compression, and reduced effectiveness.

Installation?
The only thing you need to do in advance is to ensure the loft floor is cleared. Installation of attic insulation typically takes around four hours or day, depends on size of attic and planned works. Our insulation is non-toxic, so you will not need to vacate your home at any point during the installation process. There is only a small amount of noise, and whilst some dust may be created, we use plastic sheeting to protect your floors and we always clean up after ourselves.
